Having been part of different industries has helped Gagandeep Singh, who is the group CISO at IHH Healthcare Berhad, learning the various aspects of cybersecurity. He discusses how his varied experience being on the vendor side to moving on to the customer side has helped him in his role as a CISO.

"I spent a lot of time learning and implementing technologies, building solutions for the customers," he says. Then, when he became a customer, he "understood the real challenges around internal selling of ideas and securing budgets, as security was just a part of the overall business, not business itself."
