Profiles in Leadership: Deborah Haworth, Penguin Random HouseCISO Discusses IT, OT and IoT Convergence
As CISO of the publishing company Penguin Random House, Deborah Haworth is working on managing the convergence of IT, OT and IoT.
A key step, she says, is ranking the risks posed by vulnerabilities so the organization can prioritize "where we're going to spend our energies and our money in terms of the fix, the remediation," she says.
In a video interview with Information Security Media Group as part of the CyberEdBoard's ongoing Profiles in Leadership series, Haworth discusses:
- The unique cybersecurity threats facing the publishing industry and how to prepare for them;
- Securing the global supply chain with effective vendor due diligence;
- The importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
Haworth, CISO at Penguin Random House in the U.K., has 20 years of information security experience. She's an ISACA Certified Information Security Manager, Fellow of the British Computer Society and Chartered IT Professional specializing in information security management; security governance; risk management; policy and compliance; cyber defense and response; crisis management; operational effectiveness; complex problem solving; and motivation and leadership.
