OneTrust has put nearly $1 billion in investment to good use, helping companies address everything from data governance to security assurance to third-party risk, Chief Strategy Officer Blake Brannon says.

The Atlanta-based company has taken on challenges such as monitoring for the ethical use of data; verifying compliance across disparate areas of the organization, such as AWS and mobile device management; and helping customers understand their supply chain and operational resiliency, Brannon says. Going forward, he says OneTrust wants to do more around ethics and compliance as well as environmental, social, and corporate governance and sustainability.

"We've been helping organizations, and we've really been disrupting markets that have traditionally run programs like privacy, compliance, governance, ethics and ESG," Brannon says. "We have created the trust intelligence platform to help companies get more visibility into what they're doing, take more action and really automate those programs at a whole new scale."

In this video interview with Information Security Media Group, Brannon also discusses:

  • How OneTrust's approach to third-party risk is differentiated;
  • The impact of June's layoffs on OneTrust's technology strategy;
  • The biggest cybersecurity trends to watch at Black Hat USA 2022.

Before moving into his current role in May 2021, Brannon oversaw all aspects of OneTrust's product and was responsible for defining the privacy management software market and OneTrust's product capabilities. He evaluated industry trends and analyst research while driving product planning, design, customer advisory testing and product launch activities. Prior to OneTrust, Brannon was one of the first employees at AirWatch, where he served as global director of sales engineering and vice president of product marketing.
