Under immediate supervision of the Regional Senior Director of Compliance and Quality Assurance, the Manager of Medical Quality Risk Management is responsible for implementation, adaptation and maintenance of the Medical Quality Risk Management Workplan(s), including creating and maintaining and adapting tools to assess compliance with internal and external requirements; and performing, evaluating, and reporting on audit results. The Manager of Medical Quality Risk Management is an advocate in implementing our mission of “Affirming the human right to reproductive health and freedom.” Responsibilities
Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manages implementation of PPNCS Clinical Quality Risk Management Workplan(s) Synthesizes data and reports on Clinical Quality Risk Management Workplan progress, findings and corrective actions to the Compliance, Quality, and Risk Management (CQRM) committee. Manages participation of clinic operations staff in quality assurance and compliance activities. Conducts internal audits to assess compliance with state and federal laws, grants, contracts, policies/SOPs, and PPFA requirements; tracks and reports on corrective action plans; creates audit and monitoring tools. Serves as key stakeholder in accreditation preparation for health centers and clinic operations. First level reviewer for incidents reported to Affiliate Risk Management Services. Synthesizes data for review at Near Miss Incident Complaint (NMIC) committee meetings. Assists in identification of patterns or trends and development of system improvements in conjunction with the Regional Senior Director of Compliance and Quality Assurance, on data from incidents and complaints reported to Affiliate Risk Management Services. Communicates audit results with all health centers and clinic staff on an on-going basis Reviews audit findings to identify trends and need for systemic process changes Assists with prep for external clinical audits Performs other duties as assigned STANDARD REQUIREMENTS Supports, cooperates with, and implements specific procedures and programs for: safety and security, confidentiality, quality assurance, compliance with current laws and regulations including HIPAA and mandated reporting, and training Supports and participates in: Common teamwork; Cooperates and works together with all co-workers, Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations demonstrating compassion, empathy and dignity for all Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers and patients regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns Promotes positive public image and relations of PPNCS Completes requirements for acceptable attendance and timeliness to work, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene Performs other work duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Associate or bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years experience working in a healthcare environment Preferred Qualifications Experience working in patient care or revenue cycle management Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and NextGen systems. Confident in navigating patient privacy laws Ability to keep abreast of clinical best practices Strong communication and interpersonal skills Problem solving skills Attention to detail
