Implementing an IAM Framework for a Hybrid WorkforceTricor Group’s Cybersecurity Head Varun Kakkar on the Deployment Strategy
A comprehensive IAM program requires integration with HR and legacy systems to enable multifactor authentication, SaaS, and Identity-as-a-Service to provide secure user access and a secure user experience, says Hong Kong-based Varun Kakkar, group head of cybersecurity at Tricor Group.
“IAM is at the center of security,” Kakkar says. He adds that the COVID-19 pandemic and hybrid working have made it even more important to have a comprehensive IAM strategy because "Security needs to travel with the user."
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group, Kakkar also discusses:
- Integrating a PAM strategy with the IAM framework;
- Challenges in implementing passwordless authentication;
- The importance of the single sign-on approach.
Kakkar is the group head of cybersecurity at Tricor Group. He has more than 13 years of experience in IT and security, and his specialties include understanding local and international regulations and compliance. In an earlier stint with a large SI, he worked hands-on to deliver end-to-end infosec, cybersecurity, and infrastructure solutions.
