How to Balance Simplicity and Scale in Cybersecurity

CrowdStrike's Jagdish Mahapatra Shares the Key Tenets of Cybersecurity
Jagdish Mahapatra, vice president, Asia, CrowdStrike

As businesses grow, a key challenge for CISOs is to scale security and at the same time keep it simple, says Jagdish Mahapatra, vice president, Asia, at CrowdStrike.

"As business scales, asset grows and it gets harder to retain (cybersecurity) simplicity. So, to be able to pick on an architecture that can grow with the business or kind of really outlast the business is a big challenge," Mahapatra says.

"It is important to have the right sort of people skills with the right processes. When an incident takes place, do we have the right kind of closed-loop processes to get back the information that we have learned from there and, more importantly, have a technology that can outlast?"

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group, Mahapatra also discusses:

  • The pain points of security practitioners;
  • The three tenets of cybersecurity;
  • Impact of cloud migration on cybersecurity.

At CrowdStrike, Mahapatra's key responsibilities include building a strong business for Asia with a focus on providing next-gen cybersecurity solutions to enterprise customers and the government.
