"It is not about the traditional approach of providing basic theoretical training. We have to make training interactive as much as possible. We have gamification for our training exercise. It gives a long-lasting impression when people take note of things diligently," Singh said.

Other successful approaches to incident preparedness include creating a security champion program that trains key members from every team on security, as well as a shadowing program that allows team members from other parts of the organization to spend time with the security team and participate in security incident response.

In this video interview with Information Security Media Group, Singh discussed:

  • How to implement a security champion program to decentralize knowledge;
  • Strategies for managing the infrequency and unpredictability of large-scale incidents;
  • How to launch immersive, role-based training and shadowing programs.

Singh has more than 15 years of experience in spearheading robust cybersecurity strategies and programs that align with organizational objectives, ensuring compliance and fostering a culture of security excellence. His core competencies include strategic leadership, incident response, regulatory compliance and security risk management.
