As the CISO of an energy company, understanding cybersecurity threats to critical infrastructure is paramount, according to Antukh. A strategy such as the STAR model "takes into consideration not only the financial impacts, but also environment, health, safety and operational disruption," he said.

Antukh stressed the importance of understanding valid use cases and implementing modern solutions such as context-based multifactor authentication and role-based access control. "We need to have good asset inventory, including our third parties. We need to understand those use cases and document them. We need to have a good understanding of our security architecture," Antukh said.

In this video interview with Information Security Media Group at RSA Conference 2024, part of the CyberEdBoard's ongoing Profiles in Leadership series, Antukh also discussed:

  • Managing risks in legacy OT systems;
  • Incorporating risk quantification into decision-making processes;
  • The benefits of being a member of the CyberEdBoard.

Antukh is an award-winning cybersecurity leader with 15 years of experience in various organizations - from tech unicorns and consultancies to some of the largest financial organizations in the world. He actively supports various nonprofit organizations that promote education and equality. He is a CyberEdBoard member.
